Side scuba diving is a journey into an unknown world. The depths of the sea and its fascinating fauna and flora are in front of us. We can see the sea in a different way and literally touch its mysteries. If you’ve never been scuba diving before, don’t worry, beginners are welcome to the tour.
After the training session, you are ready for your first dive. The tour includes two dives with a break for rest and lunch. The first dive is an adaptation dive, 30 minutes. Your instructor will keep a close eye on you throughout the dive. On the second, you’ll be able to swim under the same constant watchful eye. Between sessions, we’ll have a delicious lunch cooked on board. For beginners, dive depths in Side range from 3 to 8 metres. If you are a diving license holder, you can dive deeper. The length of the dives can vary depending on your breathing style. It is advisable to breathe steady, as if you were not underwater, but as if you were normally out in the air.
If your loved ones don’t want to dive, they can join the tour and sunbathe aboard the ship while you perform the dives. Their ticket is considerably cheaper. Both transfers, lunch, two dives, professional instructor and all equipment are included in the price of the tour. Go for it, be brave!
Side is home to Europes largest underwater museum and this is where you are going to have your dive. You will see shipwrecks and reefs as well as natural sea life and an amazing array of fishes. The trasnparent waters provide a clean view of life below the surface that make this area a hotspot for diving!
SCUBA which stands for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus is an excellent way to transfer yourself from land to taste how life would below as a marine animal. It does take a few minutes for the brain to get used to breathing underwater but as soon as you do, you will take to it like a fish to water (pun intended)!
Whether you are completely new to using SCUBA equipment or whether you are a seasoned diver you are sure to enjoy your day out both on the boat and off it, exploring the world below water that so few people ever have the opportunity to glimpse. This is usually an elite excursion due to prices in some of the other Mediterranean resorts but the local currency makes this the most affordable dive excursion in this part of the world.

In 2025, price of Side Scuba Diving is 35 € for adults, 25 € for non-diver guests who are over 3 years old, free for children at and under 3 years old.

You will be collected from your hotel or apartment in Side, by comfortable air conditioned transport, at around 08:00. You will then head down to Side harbour where your dive boat is waiting for you to board.
If you have never dived before – no problem. The dive tour is used by amateurs, professionals and first timers! On arrival at your boat you will be greeted by the friendly, professional staff who will accompany you to the museum point where the captain will drop anchor. Training will then be given to you by a qualified instructor, who will get you comfortable and used to the breathing apparatus, and before you go on to do your initial dive, he will issue your equipment. You then have a 30 minute dive, always accompanied by your professional dive buddy. This is mandatory as you are not allowed to dive alone. As you become accustomed to the hidden undersea life you will begin to relax and enjoy this oceanic experience.
After everyone has enjoyed their first 30 minute dive of the day, a lunch will be served on board the boat. Lunch is usually a light affair in order for you to get the most out of your diving experience and a heavy lunch might impair this. Your lunch usually consists of sauteed chicken, pasta and salad, cooked freshly on board for you. A small break and then for your second dive.
Children under the age of 14 are not allowed to dive by law, likewise if someone has breathing difficulties it is not advised that they undertake this tour. This said, should a member of your group or family wish to come along and watch for half the price of the dive ticket, they may come with you, where you could both enjoy swimming or snorkelling in between your dives.
The Dive Boat goes out every day throughout the summer season and pick up times at around 08:00 returning to your hotel or apartment in Side at around 17:00. The price of your ticket includes transfer to and from the boat, insurance, a professional instructor, lunch and use of scuba equipment necessary for your dive.
I had an amazing day exploring underwater world in Side. Dive center catered to all levels of experience and high visibility of Turkey’s waters made it even more magical. Swimming with fishes is an experience like no other!

Decent experience overall. Instructors were patient, but equipment felt outdated. Underwater scenery was breathtaking, although crowded at times. Feeding fish was fun but rushed. Lunch on boat was tasty but small portions. Hoping for improvements next time.

I couldn’t believe diversity of marine life in Side! Winter wetsuits kept us warm and swimming among colorful coral reefs was a surreal experience. Whether you’re a pro or a beginner, this is a must do activity in Turkey.
