Side Sapadere Canyon Tour

  Last Updated: March 25, 2024

With Side Sapadere canyon tour, we invite you to escape the hot city and head to a completely different place, a land of glorious mountains, caves, peace and the coolness of the emerald waters. It is one of the unique places on our planet. The incredible natural beauty of Sapadere is mesmerizing, the waterfalls stunning, the caves inspiring in awe with their size and terrain.

In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in a comfortable minibus and drive to Sapadere. On the way you will stop by Alanya’s fruit plantations. You will see bananas and other fruit trees growing. Our next stop is the Cave of Dwarfs, which consists of six galleries. Its walls are decorated with innumerable stalactites and stalagmites. Before visiting Sapadere, we will have lunch at a local restaurant.

Sapadere Canyon is a mountain river with waterfalls that is hidden in the mountains. It flows at the bottom of a deep gorge. You will be able to walk across it on a special footbridge about 700 metres long. You will have free time to enjoy the canyon. This natural wonder will give you the opportunity to take amazing pictures. There is a swimming spot at one of the waterfalls, the water is not above 12°C even in summer, so not everyone can dare to take a dip, but it is worth it. We will bring you back to your hotel around 5pm.

Both transfers, lunch and a ticket to the canyon are included in the price of the tour.

This full day tour takes you up into the Taurus Mountains and the magical scenery of the Sapadere Canyon.  With its natural waterways and manmade pathways negotiating the canyon, you can easily discover nature at its very best.  The flora and fauna along the way are enchanting.  The canyon is over 360 metres long and 400 metres in height.  To enter the Sapadere canyon is to enter into an enchanting world of sights and sounds, from birdsong to the music of the gentle river that flows through this wonder of nature.

Walking through the canyon soothes the soul.  The walk through covers about 750 metres and at the end you will arrive at a natural pool and the Sapadere Waterfall.  Only the brave will swim in this icy cold mountain water.  From the falls and nature’s pool to the Dwarves Cave with its legends and beautiful stalagmites and stalactites, all of this and lunch too, make for a great day out in spectacular settings.  One that you are unlikely to forget.

Side Sapadere Canyon Tour Itinerary

Leaving your Side hotel at approximately 08:30, your fully air conditioned coach will take you through the city of Alanya and up into the Taurus Mountains, where you will find the Sapadere Canyon.  A walk through the canyon follows, where you can enjoy the sounds and sights of beautiful nature at its best, before arriving at the Nature Pool and the Falls themselves.  Here you will break for swimming, photography or just to relax in the ambience of the Sapadere Falls.

Lunch served at a local restaurant will follow, usually consisting of grilled fish or chicken, salad and pasta or rice, served with delicious freshly baked bread.  You will have a chance to sample other locally produced food, by the friendly villagers who are serving your lunch.

After lunch you will visit the Dwarves Cave, known by other names such as Rainbow Cave or in Turkish Cuceler Cave.  The cave comes with its own legend, as will be told to you by your guide.  The cave is renowned for its beautiful stalagmites and stalactites, of many rainbow colours, hence the name.  Just one more photographer’s delight on this beautiful tour.

This cave is also known for its healing properties.  Particularly for people with respiratory or asthmatic problems.

When your visit to the cave ends, you return to your coach and head back down towards the city of Alanya, where you will have an hour for free time shopping, sightseeing or simply taking a cool drink at a street cafe and watching the world go by.

At the designated time and pickup point you will rejoin your guide for the journey back to Side and  your hotel.
