You will spend the majority of your day in the area known as Sultanahmet as you visit the world famous Blue Mosque.  This Mosque is still in use today and you will find yourself fully immersed in the experience as you wander through the vast prayer room, marvelling at the architectural wonders.  Just outside the Blue Mosque you will find yourself on the streets of Sultanahmet and on the site of the ancient hippodrome.  Your guide will be able to give you a wealth of information as to the history of the site and you will truly be walking in the steps of Sultans.

Of course no trip to Istanbul would be complete without a visit to the Topkapi Palace which was home to many of the great rulers throughout Turkey’s history.  Once inside you will visit libraries, apothecaries, throne rooms and of course you may choose to visit the forbidden Harem.

Following your visit to the palace you will head to the world renowned Spice Bazaar where you will be delighted by a myriad of colours and scents that seemingly fill your senses.  After some brief shopping your guide will allow you some free time to explore the area as you see fit.  It is possible at this time to take a short Bosphorous Cruise or simply wander the streets of old Istanbul.
