This is a full day tour of outstanding natural beauty that takes you to Green Canyon, from where you can enjoy the views of Oymapinari Dam, with its green waters and stunning mountain surround. On the way to the Canyon and Dam you will travel through some of the oldest village settlements of the breathtaking Taurus Mountains, Ibradi, Ormana and Sarıhacılar villages are just three of such. The unique architecture of these villages makes them known as buttoned houses. They are not made from cement but from natural fibres and trees and are unique to this area. With friendly locals to greet you as you travel you will begin to understand the true meaning of Turkish hospitality.

As your tour progresses you will visit Altinbesik National Park where you will visit the Altinbesik caves. Renowned for their ethereal beauty this is the third largest underground lake in Turkey. The lake is of 50 kilometres in length and 15 metres deep, with hundreds and thousands of stalagmites and stalactites formed over thousands if not millions of years. This totally natural beauty is worthy of a thousand pictures.

Manavgat Altinbesik Cave Tour Itinerary

Your day commences with an early morning transfer (approx. 08:00) from your hotel to the Altinbesik National Park, through the Taurus Mountains and down to Green Canyon and the Oymapinari Dam. The National Park is an ecologists dream with over 600 species of different plants. The Park has been around since 1994 and is thriving to this day.

You will have lunch at a traditional Turkish restaurant before reaching the Cave and taking the boat across the colourful waters. The total length of these underground waters is over 50 kilometres, your ride will take in a shorter length of known, safe waters, around 450 metres or thereabout.

After lunch you will have free time before returning to the coach and back to your Alanya hotel, where you can swim, sunbathe or simply relax and enjoy the emerald waters of the Dam.

What ought I bring with me?

Bring your swimsuit, towel and suncreams, together with your sunglasses and or hat if you wish. There may be a cool swimming option at the Dam, with some free time for you to do as you wish.

Bring some money for those little extras. You may wish to purchase souvenirs as you travel through the region, or extras surplus to your lunch and drinks.

Don’t forget your camera. With a variety of landscapes to tempt your photographer’s eye, you will be sorry if you don’t bring it with you.

Do wear appropriate footwear for walking distances.
