At 09:30, Cappadocia Red Tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel or apartment. Your professional guide, a qualified historian, will greet you and accompany you throughout the day. After meeting your driver and the guide, you will embark on a magical journey through the valleys & fairy chimneys in Cappadocia.
The first stop in the tour program is Valley of Pasabag Monks, located between Avanos and Goreme, where early Christian monks used to seek safety and retreat.
Upon entering the Devrent Valley, you will find a large trail that winds through the area, surrounded by stunning scenery, including numerous fairy chimneys.
The valley’s most iconic feature is the three-capped fairy chimney located in the center of the valley, which is known as the Fairy Chimney Chapel. This is where Saint Simeon is said to have lived in seclusion for 15 years.
Devrent Valley is one of the most popular stops on the Red Tour of Cappadocia. You can hike through the valley and explore the unique rock formations, including fairy chimneys and rock-cut temples. The valley is also home to a number of cave dwellings, which can be visited to get a glimpse into the region’s history.
The backdrop of the atmospheric sunset over Cappadocia makes it a perfect place for capturing a memorable photo. See for yourself why Devrent Valley is a popular place for proposals and acceptances.
You will proceed to your next stop, Zelve Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, which features 4th to 13th century monastic buildings cut from rocks, and some of the best Byzantine artworks in Cappadocia.
The museum includes churches, chapels, dining rooms and sitting rooms, all carved from ancient rock formations. Take a break, have some refreshments, and capture photographs of this unique and historical landscape.
Your next stop will be Esentepe viewpoint above Cappadocia, where you can find a variety of restaurants and cafes with stunning views of the Goreme Valley. This is an ideal spot to take refreshment, reflect on the amazing sights, and take in the views.
After visiting Esentepe viewpoint, you will travel to Uchisar Castle, the highest point above the valley, with arguably the most beautiful views of the fairy chimneys and panoramic views of the landscape.
As the tour comes to a close, you will head down to Cavusin, one of the oldest settlements in the region, where people still live in rock-cut houses among the many historical sites of monasteries and churches.
Depending on the busyness of the restaurants, you will have lunch either in Ustanın Yeri Restaurant or Han Restaurant. Menu consists variety of options for starters, salads, grilled meat, grilled chicken, rise, spaghetti & desserts.
You will be picked up from your hotel or apartment at around 09:30 and the tour will last 7 to 8 hours after which you will be returned to your point of original pick up.
