Buggy safari in Bodrum is a 2-hour action-packed off-road adventure through the rugged terrain in the forest.
The buggy safari experience is somewhat different to the quad ATVs. Sometimes known as a ‘frame car’ this just about describes the buggy you will be driving. With side by side seating as opposed to one in front and one behind, you will be able to change drivers with your partner at given points throughout the tour. On a route that gives varying degrees of difficulty and with obstacle points to overcome, you will congratulate yourself on your ability to adapt to the terrain.
The montainous area around Bodrum is home to the safari station giving you great views of the mountains, rocks and the plantlife surrounding the base. With such a beautiful backdrop you will drive through a wet, dry and muddy landscape. The adrenalin felt on such a drive will often leave you screaming with laughter as you travel along. A most definite and welcome change to the often more sedate tours on offer.

Your tour begins when you will be picked up from your Bodrum hotel by comfortably air conditioned vehicle and brought to the buggy safari base. After being greeted by the professional guides you will be introduced to the buggy and its functions. A short test drive should ensue. Please note that under 18s are not allowed to drive a buggy, but may sit alongside an adult. It should also be noted that you do not need a driving licence to operate one of the buggies on this safari.
Once ready you begin your tour through the mountain route, across dusty, dry terrain and wet and muddy, through a shallow river, encompassing various obstacles along the way.
If this sounds alarming, be assured that you will be travelling in convoy with two separate professionals at hand, one flanking the convoy and one leading. If at any time you are struggling one or both will come to your assistance.
The tour goes out twice every day throughout the summer season, and often throughout the winter and spring months, if requested by adequate numbers, and of course if the weather is viable.
Your tour lasts approximately 3 hours from pick up to return with around 2 hours driving experience. You choose whether you want a morning session or afternoon session when you purchase your ticket and pick up times will be confirmed upon reservation.
Cost of Buggy Safari in Bodrum is 50 € for single vehicles, 60 € for double vehicles in 2024.
Because of the different routes you should bring with you sunglasses and a bandana or handkerchief, as dust protector. They may have bandanas for sale at the safari station.
You are going to get very dusty and muddy in turn, so a change of clothing may be a good idea, while wearing your swimsuit beneath your clothes for that unexpected cooling off dip!
There will be a shower and changing facilities free of charge, at the safari station, for your comfort and return to hotel.
Do bring money for your own personal expenditure. This might include drinks or photographs or DVDs. Feel free to bring your own camera with you if you wish, but remember to bring a waterproof bag for it. Be aware that the photographer will have access to wilder and different photographs than you as a driver may be able to take.
The ticket price includes transfer from your Bodrum hotel and return at the end of the session. Your professional guide service is also included and use of buggy together with safety helmet, plus your insurance.
Not for very young children although children 7 or over are welcome to sit alongside a driving adult. This is an adrenalin packed morning, enjoyable for most family members, singles or groups.
We do not recommend the tour for anyone with a heart condition or pregnant women.
Your personel expenses throughout the session are not included. This might involve any ‘action’ photographs taken by the resident cameraman at the base, who should be taking those candid shots throughout the day. Also does not include any drinks or snacks you choose to purchase at the station.
Safety helmets will be provided by the safari station as part of your ticket cost.
Tour appropriate footwear is also advised. Something that will not easily fall off and be lost along the route, plus a towel for personal use if you decide to use the shower facilities back at the base. We recommend that you leave any valuables at home and do not wear your best or even white clothing. After a morning or afternoon buggy riding, they will never look the same again!
