Let’s go to wonderful Cappadocia!
Cappadocia is perhaps one of the most beautiful, mesmerising and enchanting places not only in Turkey but the whole world. It is famous for its fairy chimneys but is steeped in history and culture so that it has become so much more than a geological wonder. The area holds something for everyone and you are sure to be astounded by its beauty should you visit.
After the eruption of Mount Erciyes thousands of years ago the build up of ash and basalt coupled by erosion across the plateau has led to the shaping of the most interesting rock formations that resemble tall mushrooms or some say ‘fairy chimneys’. These have been carved out and used as homes and places of worship since the beginning of human history right up to the present day.
Upon visiting Cappadocia, you will find whole cities several floors below the surface of the Earth and more importantly have the chance to enter and explore them. Of course there is the ever famous hot air balloon flight to make and even though this might not come cheap it really is a once in a lifetime experience and not to be missed.
