Travertines of Pamukkale were and are still being formed by calcified water flowing from underground. Soothing thermal pools are said to have healing properties, and for thousands of years, travellers have come to Pamukkale to bathe in them.
You may initially believe that the whiteness is snow, but as you approach and walk along, you will realize that they are actually non-slippery rocks.
Rock formations are only the beginning. Hierapolis, one of the oldest thermal cities, awaits you at the top. On your visit, you can see the ancient ruins of Hierapolis, its necropolis, agora and many more.
Note: You can combine Pamukkale visitation with Salda Lake (Turkish Maldives) - Check this tour out.
Professional tour guide will bring you to Cleopatra's pool, where you can settle in. Pool complex has restaurants, cafe's, changing rooms, W.C., gift shops and lockers to store your belongings. Location of the Cleopatra's pool is convenient, as it is close to all the sights, allowing for easy access and return visits.
Natural hot springs offer a unique combination of natural beauty and historical significance. Fallen columns from the ancient city of Hierapolis still stand in the pool, and the 36-degree Celsius waters provide the chance to swim among them.
Next, you will visit white travertines. You can enjoy the rock pools as you descend the travertine ridge. Travertines are loved by people of all ages, from 7 to 77, due to the shallow and warm rock pools filled with thermal waters.
In addition, this area provides the perfect opportunity to take great photos.
There are several comfort breaks on the way to Pamukkale, so you won’t be on the bus for the entire journey. We’ll stop at small local venues where you can step out for a short break, use the restrooms, and browse some of the regional products.
At the top of the travertines, you can enjoy the ancient city of Hierapolis, where Roman baths, museums, ancient streets, ancient theatre, ancient collumns and agoras will transport you to the past.
After exploring Hierapolis (holy city), you will reunite with your guide at Cleopatra pool complex. Then, you will begin your journey back to Antalya. You can enjoy the scenic forests views from the bus. It may be a long day, but the experience of exploring this beautiful region and its antiquities is worth it.

Bringing three kids to Pamukkale was a bold call, but our guide kept everyone engaged and the thermal pools were a massive hit with the little ones — barefoot on those white terraces is an experience they won't forget. The buffet lunch was more than enough to keep hungry children going.
The 4:30 am pickup was brutal with young kids, and three hours at the site felt rushed once you factor in the Hierapolis ruins on top.
Thank you so much for sharing your family's experience with us! We completely understand that the early start is tough, especially with little ones, and we appreciate your feedback about the time at the site. We hope the memories made on those terraces made it all worthwhile, and we'd love to welcome your family back one day. — Book From Locals
A group of six of us came over from Manchester specifically to tick Pamukkale off the bucket list, and this tour genuinely delivered everything we'd hoped for and more. The guide, Mehmet, was brilliantly knowledgeable — he gave us vivid context about Hierapolis that turned a walk through ancient ruins into something that actually felt meaningful, and he had a gift for reading the group and keeping the energy up across a very long day. The travertine terraces were, quite simply, one of the most surreal and beautiful things any of us had ever seen in person; standing barefoot in those warm shallow pools with the white calcium ridges stretching out ahead of you is an experience that photographs genuinely cannot do justice to. We splurged on Cleopatra's Antique Pool and all agreed it was worth every euro — swimming among half-submerged Roman columns in perfectly warm thermal water felt almost absurdly special. The buffet lunch was generous and varied, and the coach was comfortable enough that even the long journey felt manageable with good company.
The early pickup is a genuine shock to the system, and we won't pretend otherwise — 4:30 am is brutal when you're on holiday. Three hours at the site also felt slightly rushed given how much there is to take in, and we could easily have spent another hour at Hierapolis alone.
Thank you so much for this wonderful review — we're absolutely thrilled you had such a memorable day with us! Mehmet will be delighted to hear your kind words. You're right that the early start and the pace of the day are a lot to ask, and we genuinely appreciate your understanding. We hope to welcome you and your friends back for another adventure soon! — Book From Locals
My partner and I had been eyeing up Pamukkale for years, and this tour finally delivered on every expectation we'd quietly built up. Our guide, Mehmet, was exceptional — genuinely knowledgeable about both the geology of the terraces and the Roman history of Hierapolis, and he had a real gift for making complex information feel engaging rather than like a lecture. The travertine terraces themselves are simply breathtaking in person; no photograph comes close to conveying the scale or the otherworldly whiteness of the formations, and paddling barefoot through the warm thermal pools felt surreal in the best possible way. We also decided to splash out on Cleopatra's Antique Pool, and swimming among those half-submerged Roman columns in the warm, mineral-rich water is one of those rare travel experiences that genuinely lives up to the hype. The open-buffet lunch was perfectly adequate and gave us a welcome chance to rest our feet before heading back up into Hierapolis for the amphitheatre and necropolis, which were far more impressive than we anticipated.
The 4:30 am pickup is brutal — there's no sugarcoating it — and even with the long coach journey being comfortable and well-managed, three hours at the site does feel a little tight when you're trying to take in both the terraces and the full extent of Hierapolis. For the value Cleopatra's Pool offers, the EUR 18 entry feels on the steep side, though we don't regret paying it.
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We're thrilled that Pamukkale lived up to your hopes and that Mehmet made the history and geology come alive for you both. We completely understand the early start and the extra pool fee can feel like pinch points, and we appreciate you raising them — your feedback genuinely helps us. We hope to welcome you on another adventure very soon! — Book From Locals
