In the heart of Pamukkale, there is a hot water pool. You can swim among the fallen columns and historical remnants of Hierapolis. You can enjoy the warmth of the thermal spring waters heated far below the Earth's surface and feel the healing properties of the mineral-rich waters.
After a short drive, you will have a breakfast stop in a restaurant.
After arriving in Pamukkale, you will have a tour of Hierapolis and the surrounding sights. Your guide will inform you about the site and answer any questions. After a short walk with your guide, you will reach the pool complex and have a 3-hour of free time.
Cleopatra's pool is in the middle of Pamukkale. It is a big complex with multiple restaurants, cafeterias, toilets, changing rooms and sunbeds. As it is in the middle of everything, you can visit a sight, return to the pool for refreshments, and move to the next sight. Your guide will indicate where he will be waiting for you, and you can ask your questions about the sights whenever you come to the pool complex.
In your free time, you can explore the ruins of the Hierapolis ancient city, such as baths, agora, latrina, theatre and temples. Hierapolis is also home to the biggest Necropolis in Turkey. You can see beautiful marble sarcophagi with carvings.
Something you shouldn't miss is the white travertines of Pamukkale. The travertine terraces are filled with thermal water, and the depth of the water is roughly 10 - 20 centimetres. So you can lie on the terraces, enjoy the thermal waters and take amazing photos there.
You can also swim in this thermal water's core - the Pool of Cleopatra. Water is just above the body temperature, 36 degrees Celsius. After an earthquake, ancient columns surrounding the pool have dropped into the pool and are still there. So if you consider swimming, you will swim among history.
After the visit of Pamukkale, it's time to return to Alanya. On the way back, you will have dinner. With some comfort breaks on the way, you should arrive back at your pick-up point between 20:30 and 21:00.
