Marmaris Dalyan tour is a guided day trip to visit Turtle beach, mud bath and the famous King’s tombs.
In an area nestling with thermal springs and mud baths, Sultaniye has to be the most authentic and beautiful of all. Located across the lake from Koycegiz town, it appears timeless and unspoiled by tourism. The ancient columns surrounding the thermal pool will make you feel you are in ancient Rome, and locals as well as tourists use this spa all year round!
This coupled with the boat tour through the waterways that leave Lake Koycegiz and travel down to Iztuzu or Turtle Beach, is a gentler way to explore the history of this area. Once it was ancient Caunos, back when this region of Turkey was known as ancient Greece, the city thrived here. The only real evidence of it today are the rock tombs that you see overlooking the town and river of Dalyan. That said these are over 2000 years old and appear to have been made for giants.
Iztuzu Beach is given to the preservation of the Caretta Caretta Turtles, yes, so good they named them twice. The turtles use Iztuzu beach as a breeding ground. You may find parts of the beach sectioned off as there are eggs there waiting to hatch and make their desperate scamper to the waters edge. Under no cicumstances should you interfere with the sectioned areas.

Your tour starts at around 08:30 when you are picked up from your Marmaris hotel and begin your journey to Koycegiz Lake. With a journey time of around 45 minutes from Marmaris, your guide will greet you on board and give you information throughout the journey.
You board your boat on the lakeside at the pretty little town of Koycegiz and travel across the lake to waiting Sultaniye where the mud baths and hot springs have held sway for centuries. It is said that even distant Sultans came here for the healing properties of the spring. See for yourself!
When you have soaked in the warm waters and covered yourself in mud you may either use the showers provided to clean up or take a dip in the freshwater lake itself. The choice is yours!
When lunch is ready on board your boat, BBQ chicken salad and pasta normally, you can take lunch in the wonderful ambience of this ancient spa, before your boat begins the journey down through the lake towards the waterways and the sea, and Iztuzu Beach itself.
Along the way you will pass by ancient rock tombs and castle remnants, evergliding the green waters that take you through the town of Dalyan and towards the beach and sea, where you will enjoy free time on the golden sands.
At the designated time you will return to your boat and travel once more through the waterways and back to the lake where your coach will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Marmaris in time to have a siesta before your evening activities.
