A balloon ride at dawn over the magnificent terraces of Pamukkale, as you soar you can watch the sun rise over the ancient ruins of the city of Hierapolis, standing sentinel over the ice-like rocks, and marvel at this UNESCO World Heritage Site from the air.

Even in these times people still make pilgrimage to this spiritual place, It’s easy to see why. Since the first stone was laid, back in the annals of time, Hierapolis has embraced its spa waters, surfacing from below the earth at a hot 35 degrees centigrade, and forming the calcified rock pools that cascade down its ancient mountain. If you intend to stay a while and explore on foot, do bring your sun creams and sunglasses, and a towel and a bathing suit, you will be able to swim or cool off in the naturally formed rock pools of the terraces, and of course you will have the option to take a dip in Cleopatra’s Pool too!
