Pamukkale is a definite must see attraction and your visit will be made smooth and comfortable as you fly from Istanbul to Denizli airport. Pamukkale is the site of the ancient spa resort of Hierapolis and you will have ample time here to explore the thermal waters and follow in the footsteps of Queen Cleopatra herself as you submerge beneath the warm mineral waters known for their healing properties. You will be able to bathe among the ruins of the city and enjoy this refreshing and relaxing experience a far cry from the polluted streets of the city.
Hierapolis is a well preserved city with a large amount of historical buildings. From the amphitheatre to the devil’s gate you are sure to be intrigued by all that the city has to offer. There are excellent exhibits of sarcophagi as well as pauper’s graves in the nearby Necropolis, all within easy walking distance of the travertines themselves.
Whilst some of the cascades of calcium are prohibited to visitors in an effort to protect the natural beauty there is an area open to visitors where you can walk along the snow white deposits, maybe dipping your toes into the paddling sized pools of thermal waters that have gathered down the mountain.
This is a full day out and upon your return to Istanbul you will feel sweetly tired but satisfied that you have explored an area of Turkey renowned for its natural beauty and realising that the many photographs do not do Pamukkale the justice it deserves!

It is a long day. However, if you have never visited before, Pamukkale is a must-see attraction that derives a place in your holiday itinerary.
