Fethiye Turkish bath is a 2-hour relaxing treatment with sauna, scrubbing, foam and aromatherapy oil massages.
The Turkish Bath has been a wonderful experience throughout the Middle East, and since early Roman times, throughout Europe and Turkey. The Hamam you will be visiting is the Old Turkish Bath, close to the sea, in Fethiye. Fethiye was once known by its Greek name of Telmessos and became known as Fethiye after one man dreamed that an earthquake would hit he city. It is said that his warnings saved the lives of the Telmessos citizens and the city was then renamed in his honour. Fortunately some buildings survived the earthquakes, the Old Turkish Bath being one of them. Indeed it has been in operation since the 16th century.
Given the absence of bathrooms, families as well as Sultans enjoyed the Turkish Bath. Days were given over to female or male only sessions and were often viewed as social gatherings, not just simply a way to get clean. Women would often attend the Turkish Bath to view any potential wives for theirs sons and children were often welcomed along to play, as well as get clean.
Nowadays the Turkish Bath is an affordable luxury for everyone and is still a commonplace part of Turkish Life. Compared to its modern European counterpart, the Turkish Bath is excellent value for money and an experience you will want to repeat whenever you can.

Cost of Hamam in Fethiye in 2026 is 30 € per adult in 2026. Children between 6 - 12 years old are 20 € and infants are free of charge.
The Peshtemal or Hamam Towel, is usually of a traditional design and this is provided for you on arrival.
Each individual is cleaned with a Kessa glove. This is basically a scrub mitt, oriental in origin and usually hand knitted.
Soap, shampoo and towel.
You may bring your own sandals if you prefer, preferably non slip, or the Hamam will provide a pair for your use.
The Turkish Bath is available seven days a week throughout the year. You decide the time you wish to go and let us know.
We do not recommend the Hamam for very young children, however older children are very welcome to come along with you for a ‘taster’ experience of the Turkish Bath. They are not viable for the Oil Massage. If you or your family have any health problems you should let them know at the reception area before you start. This is an experience of some heat and we therefore do not recommend it for anyone with a heart condition, high blood pressure, or pregnant women.
We suggest you wear your swimsuit for modesty, underneath your Hamam towel.
We do not recommend that you shower within two hours of taking your Hamam. The aromatic oils used will soften and improve your skin if left unwashed for a few hours. You should be feeling so relaxed after this that you will only want to lie down and sleep for a little while.
Bring your bathers, as a modesty gesture, for underneath your hamam robe.
We recommend you bring a little money with you for any extras you may wish to purchase. The Hamam may have its own soaps or oils on sale if you wish to replicate the experience at home when your holiday is finished.
Do leave valuables and camera at home. There is likely to be a photographer in situ who can catch you in your ‘foamy’ moments.
