Cappadocia Hiking Itinerary

A prearranged meeting point will see you being met and greeted to Cappadocia by your local, registered guide.  You may choose a meeting point most convenient for yourself in Goreme, be this your hotel or some other meeting point your guide will be happy to accommodate you.  The rendezvous time is just before the sunrise and once all members of the party are ready you will set off on the initial hike.

Your first path will see you walking through Sword Valley with visits to the rock churches and pigeon cots.  Your guide will be happy to talk with you as you walk, giving you all information about the local history and culture that you may not otherwise have time to hear.  As you continue hiking you will reach the Red and Rose Valley so named due to the pinkish tones of the rock formations (often referred to as fairy chimneys).  As the valley is full of hidden caves that include rock churches you are sure to want to explore inside and outside.

This is a great point in the day to take a much deserved break and take in the fabulous views over the valleys and the rock formations.  You may wish to have some lunch here as an optional extra or simply have a stroll around the authentic homes.

Your hike will then continue into Cavusin village which is famed for the monastery that was built or rather carved into the rocks by Greek monks in the 6th century.  From here you will have an option to continue on into Love Valley or begin your return hike to Goreme.

Just after the sunset you will arrive back at Goreme feeling a little tired but content that you have explored Cappadocia in a unique and fun way.  Once you have bid fare well to your guide all that remains is a refreshing shower back at your hotel.
