Fire of Anatolia From Alanya

Fire of Anatolia from Alanya offers a theatre and a show to you at the same time. The theatre is all about historical events. It shows us the past in a very unique way, the show is a dance performance with colourful costumes and vivid requisites. Performances take place in a big amphitheatre, which is over 2,000 years old (!). It is located in the ancient city of Aspendos.

There are two shows on the programme, and you can reserve the one that suits you best. The first is a dance kaleidoscope show focusing on the culture of the historic nations of Turkey and neighbouring countries. The show is called ‘Fire of Anatolia’ and the theatre itself is named after it. The second show tells the story of the events during the fall of Troy. It is based on Homer’s ‘Iliad’. Both programmes are indescribably colourful and dramatic. Please let us know at the time of booking which programme you would like to see (days may vary, depending upon which show you have chosen. We recommend that you reserve tickets for the shows in advance). Both transfers (to and from the hotel), show ticket and dinner are included in the price of the tour.

The Fire of Anatolia Dance troupe will set your heart on fire with the magnificent performance art that they have so made their own. With 250 regular performers, the sheer size of the cast should be enough to tell you how grandiose this show is.  Also to see them perform in their birth town of Antalya will give you a sense of emotional pride.  A performance that takes place in the ancient amphitheatre of Aspendos itself. For one evening  you can take your seat in the amphitheatre and lose all sense of time and century, as you immerse yourself in the striking display of costumes and music, together with the dances of Turkey, both haunting and inspiring.

You can see the dance of the Whirling Dervishes and enjoy a traditional Turkish wedding. Alternatively you may watch the story of the Trojan Wars enacted through dance before your very eyes.

Your evening will begin at 16:30 when you will be picked up from your hotel in Alanya and taken to the Aspendos Amphitheatre near to Antalya.  With seating for over 15,000 spectators you will be surprised to enjoy the viewing and the sound acoustics that have served the population of this area for over 2,000 years!

You have a choice between two shows. 

The first is TROY, based on the works of Homer and the Trojan Wars.

The second is Fires of Anatolia based on regional and cultural development throughout Turkey.

You decide which show you would like to see and book your ticket for the appropriate night.

When your show is complete you return to your coach and are taken to dinner at a traditional restaurant to round off your fabulous evening.
